About this Camellia cultivar

Camellia reticulata 'Mouchang' is a vigorous reticulata hybrid introduced by Howard Asper in Escondido, California, and registered in 1966. It is a cross between Camellia reticulata 'Chang's Temple' and Camellia reticulata 'Moutancha'. The cultivar produces very large salmon-pink flowers with prominent yellow stamens, typically in single to semi-double form. It blooms in mid-season and has an upright growth habit with dark green foliage, making it a striking garden camellia with strong ornamental presence.
